What Is Authorial Horology?
Authorial horology places authorship at the heart of watchmaking.
Rather than beginning with an existing watch model and adapting it, the process begins with an idea, a story or an intention.
The author shapes the concept, visual language, symbolism and details of the work, while the person who commissions it becomes part of its creation.
This is the space where mechanical watchmaking meets personal expression.
For UDAIMON, a watch is not simply an instrument for measuring time.
It can become an object that carries meaning.

Every UDAIMON creation is conceived individually.
There is no standard collection to choose from and no fixed formula for what a creation must become.
Materials, finishes, symbols, proportions and details are selected according to the story behind each work.

The Story Comes First
A UDAIMON creation does not begin with a product specification.
It begins with a conversation.
We explore what the timepiece should represent — a person, a relationship, a place, an achievement, a memory or an idea.
From there, the creative process begins.
The story informs the concept.
The concept informs the design.
The design guides the craft.
The result is a timepiece that could not have existed in the same form without that story.
Crafted by Hand
UDAIMON creations are developed and finished through a hands-on artisanal process.
Fine metals, hand-finished dials, engraved or sculpted surfaces, enamel, precious materials and carefully selected components become part of each individual work.
Swiss mechanical movements provide the horological foundation.
The work around them — the design, finishing, composition and symbolism — is where the character of each UDAIMON creation takes shape.
The objective is not uniformity.
It is character.
Independent by Nature
UDAIMON exists independently from the conventions of mass production and seasonal collections.
The maison is deliberately small, allowing each creation to be approached as an individual work rather than as a product from a production line.
This also means that not every idea needs to become a collection.
Some ideas are meant to exist only once.
From Personal Story to Horological Work
A private commission can take many forms.
It can begin with a personal story, a significant date, a family symbol, an achievement, a relationship, a passion or an object that holds meaning.
Together, we explore how that meaning can be expressed through mechanical horology.
