The Author Behind the Work
UDAIMON was founded by Marian Voicu as an independent practice in authorial horology.
His approach begins with an idea rather than a catalogue — translating stories, symbols and personal meaning into mechanical timepieces crafted by hand.
For Marian, watchmaking is not simply about assembling a precise instrument.
It is about creating an object that could not have existed without the person it was made for.
Made Slowly. Made by Hand.
Every UDAIMON work passes through a process of drawing, shaping, finishing, assembling and refining by hand.
Precious metals, engraved surfaces, hand-finished dials and carefully selected materials become part of a creation whose character is defined by the human hand.
Swiss mechanical movements provide the horological foundation.
The work around them is where authorship begins.
It Begins With a Story
A UDAIMON commission does not begin with a catalogue.
It begins with a conversation.
We learn about the person, the moment, the memory or the idea that the timepiece should carry.
From there, a concept takes shape — through sketches, materials, symbols and details that belong to the story.
The result is a horological work created once, for one person.

For Mercedes-Benz's 140th anniversary, Marian Voicu created a series of commemorative horological works exploring the connection between automotive heritage, engineering and handcrafted watchmaking. BMW 7 Series - Automotive Design as Horological Inspiration
In collaboration with Automobile Bavaria around the BMW 7 Series, Marian Voicu developed a horological concept inspired by the car's contemporary design language, presence and engineering.
